How to Treat Excessive Hair Loss

Best Treatments for Excessive Hair Fall

In many cases, homemade remedies for hair care don’t work at all especially when you experience excessive hair fall.  Visits to hair spas fail to restore volume of your hair and you end up with zero results.

Causes of excessive hair fall

There can be many reasons for excessive hair fall. It can occur because of hormonal changes, illness or nutrition deficiency. Frequent chemcial treatments can also be a major cause.

Treatment

Trichologists recommend these hair treatments to stop heavy hair fall. According to an expert trichologist, hair loss treatment depends upon actual cause of it. If it occurs due to hormonal or vitamin deficiency, you can take essential vitamins in diet or as a supplement to cure this problem. Other methods are surgical or non-surgical based upon reason of hair fall.

Laser treatment

It is recommended to those having mild to severe hair loss. This procedure is carried out for increasing blood circulation, which stimulates hair follicles and that in turn reduces hair fall to a considerable extent. Laser helps retain healthy hair. You can also use laser combs in mild cases. These are normal brush-like and boost circulation for stimulation of follicles when used over scalp.

Hair transplant

This is for people with severe hair loss or partial baldness.
Types: Two types of hair transplant treatments are given that depends on your condition and severity of the problem. One is ‘ Follicular Unit Transplant’ and the other is ‘Follicular Unit Extract’
Follicular Unit Transplant
In Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), hair follicles are removed from one patch and implanted into the other patch. It’s a surgical method by which hair is transplanted in naturally occurring groups of one to four strands. This treatment is given when there is need for a large amount of hair to be transplanted because of uneven hair loss.

Follicular Unit Extraction

In Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) individual follicular unit grafts are removed directly from the back and sides of the scalp. These are then inserted in those patches of the scalp that have less or no hair at all. Bald patches of scalp are transplanted with hair from other patches.

The FUE methods is preferred more than the FUT because the former does not leave any scars or marks, while in the other method, there are several strip-like scars.

Sensi Graft

It is for those with less hair. It is actually a cosmetic procedure and there is no hair growth. Hair strands are taken from a donor and attached to the recipient.
