Homemade Scrubs that Really Work

For a strong almond scent, more almond extract can be added. When mixed completely, you can refrigerate it in a bottle covered with a lid.

Coconut Chocolate Scrub

This is an excellent body exfoliate.
You’ll need:
1 cup coarse Brown Sugar
½ cup liquid Coconut Oil
1 tsp pure Vanilla Extract
½ tsp pure Coconut extract
3 tbsp unsweetened Dark Cocoa powder


Pour oil, extracts with sugar in a bowl and mix it well.Quantity can be increased or decreased for having desired thickness. Then add cocoa powder into the mixture and stir it well. Put it all in a covered plastic bottle and store in refrigerator.  Apply once or twice every week as directed.

Sugar Foot Scrub

Home-made sugar scrub is ideal for dry feet. It removes dead layer from callous skin, making it smoother, softer and supple.
Regular table sugar is used to make this.

You’ll need:
White sugar
Oil made with jojoba, grapeseed, almond or olive
Vitamin E oil (optional). It can be bought in a bottle or extracted from a vitamin E gel capsule.
Vitamin C crystals
A container with lid to prepare the scrub


Combine all ingredients to make a thick, crumbly paste and massage carefully all over the feet. Wash after 10 to 15 minutes. It is perfect to use for people with excessively dry skin in their feet. Regular use will replace dead cells with newer ones.

Taking shower before applying any scrub will make skin soft and let it work more efficiently. Massage any scrub in small circular motion but don’t overdo because it can be harmful for delicate skin.

Why use home-made scrubs

These scrubs don’t contain harsh chemicals, artificial ingredients and synthetic essence. Not only these make skin rejuvenated, but also having a soothing effect. You can make them easily at home by taking a few ingredients right from your kitchen, No need to spend hefty amount on commercial scrubs or popular brands. Their labels may not say true always. Therefore, its a grand idea making a scrub at home and applying it as instructed. Results are absolutely visible after a few times usage.
